Joan E. Hill

Joan E. Hill, 87, of London and formerly of Corbin passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Saint Joseph Hospital at London.
Born at Barbourville, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. Evans and Edna Catron Evans Hammons. Her husband Herschel F. Hill also preceded her in death.
Joan taught school several years before joining Herschel at the Sherwin-Williams paint store in Corbin where she worked as an interior decorator.  She belonged to First Baptist Church in Corbin and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori Dix and husband Troy of Ashland, Ohio;  her son, Rob Hill of Lake Mary, Florida; and grandchildren, Evan Dix, Stewart Dix, and Melissa Dix.
Friends may call after 11 am Monday, July 24 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  Her funeral will follow there at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Sims officiating.  Interment at Rest Haven Cemetery will be private.
Members of the Don Robinson Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers.
In addition to flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church.
