Joan Leola Cox

Joan Leola Cox, 82, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at UKMC in Lexington.
Born in Clarissa, Minnesota, she had worked as a social worker in Michigan. A Lutheran by faith, Joan was a member of the Christian Bike Group, Leather 'N' Lace in Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cox, November 5, 2013, and by her mother Hazel Westlund.
She is survived by her sons James Halstead, Gregory Cox, Kevin Cox, Byron, Vickie, and Debbie; many grandchildren including special granddaughter Christine Bargo; and by her special neighbor and friend Jeff.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 3, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
The family of Joan Cox will receive friends from 12-2:00 Saturday at the funeral home.
