JoAnn Briar, age 77, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
She was born on January 22, 1926 in Nevada, Missouri, the Daughter of the late Robert Ward and Jennie Walters Carpenter.
She was a retired keypunch operator and a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Corbin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Daughter, Cindy Briar Kling; one Brother, Robert Carpenter; and two Sisters, Maurine Hurst and Dorothy Pinkston.
She is survived by her Husband, Ralph Briar; three Sons, Ralph Briar III and his wife Wanda of Aurora, Colorado; Jim Briar and his wife Mona of Corbin, and Tom Briar and his wife Tina of Berea. Nine Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 28, 2003 at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Spice officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin.
Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
