John Angelo Bernardo, age 51, of Corbin, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Harlan County and was a Blast Inspector for the Dept. of Surface Mines in Kentucky. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corbin and was preceded in death by his Father, James T. Bernardo in 2008.
He is survived by his Wife, Alesia Coscia Bernardo; Three Children, Brian, Tony, and Katherine Bernardo; Mother, Wilma Bernardo; Brothers, James Tom Bernardo Jr. of Cumberland, and Robert Walker Bernardo and wife Anita of Hebron, KY; Grandchildren, Angel and Dominic Bernardo; Nephews, Alex and Ross Bernardo and by many friends and family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, May 31, 2010, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Koury officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Jellico.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home 607 Master St. Corbin.
