John Dean Young

November 14, 1963 — March 20, 2020

John Dean Young, 56, of Corbin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2020. Dean was born on November 14, 1963 to John Young and Betty Louise (Scarborough) Young. He was a faithful Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents: Bill and Annie Scarborough, Arthur and Ada Young; a niece Tina Ridener, and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins he dearly loved. Survivors include his father, John Arnold Young; two brothers, Robert Young and William Young (Stephania); a sister, Tammy McFerron (Jason), all of Corbin; four sons, Johnny Young, Christopher Young, Travis Young, and Justin Young, of Castleberry, FL; two nephews, James Ridener (Barbara) and William Young II; two nieces, Tonya Ridener and Katie O'Connor; two great-nephews, Jesse Ridener and Zayden Sulfridge; two great-nieces, Julie Ridener and Willow O'Connor all from Corbin. Dean has many relatives and friends who will mourn his passing and miss him more that words can express. He had an infectious laugh and could make anyone smile; to be in a room with Dean was to be in a room of happiness. Though his health often seemed to be a burden to him, you would never know if you passed him on the street. He was a very "kind" man with a big and giving heart. He could play any instrument he picked up and could bring forth a joyful noise unto the Lord. He is now with the angel band celebrating in glory land. The family will have a private visitation. A graveside service will be at the Youngs Chapel Cemetery at 2pm Monday with Bro. Bob Goodin officiating. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home is serving the Young family and messages can be sent to www.vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com.
