John Luther Partin, age 82, of Corbin, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was a retired employee from the City of Corbin, and a Baptist by Faith. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, having served under General Patton in the European Theatre and was present during the storming of Normandy Beach. He was a member of the Corbin DAV #22.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Partin and Ida Mobley Partin; Two Sons, Billy Wayne Partin, and Charles "Banjo" Luther Partin; Two sisters, Lucille Moore and Delores Dupey; and one Brother, Lee Partin.
He is survived by Three Daughters, Alberta Dye, Carolyn Sherman, and Debbie McFarland all of Woodbine; Two Brothers, James and Debbie Killian both of Carlton, Michigan, 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11am Monday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery at Moore Hill in Corbin, with American Legion Post #88 Honor Guard of Corbin conducting Military Graveside Services.
Visitation will be from 6-9pm Sunday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
