Johnie Carl Kinman

Johnie Carl Kinman was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on November 10, 1944 and left this life to be with Jesus on June 8, 2017, in Corbin, Kentucky.
Johnie lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for a good portion of his life. In his younger days, he was a proud United States Marine. He worked for Penn Central/Conrail Railroad for years and was a 4 Star Salesman at several Northern Kentucky Car Dealerships. In his retirement, he was a lover and caretaker of animals and leaves behind his best friend, Batdog.
Johnie was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy Kinman and Alice Hammond Kinman, and his sister Barbara.
He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Kinman-Cox and Mildred Grogan (Richard), both of Corbin; 6 grandchildren, Cody Cox (Lauren) of Rossford, Ohio, Nick Mills (Hannah) of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Cayla Slone (James), Breonna Lockard, Colton John Cox and Lexi Lockard, all of Corbin; 2 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Slone and Levi Slone, both of Corbin; A special friend and the mother of his children, Martha E. Kinman of Corbin; 3 brothers, Ray Shewmake of Arizona, Kenneth Kinman of California and Arnie Kinman of Ohio; 6 sisters, Connie Kinman Thielman of Arizona, Marie Kinman Jones of Arkansas, Katie Kinman of Washington, and Sharon Sheppard, Sheila Kinman and Maggie Ruth Cook, all of Oregon; and many other friends and family to mourn his passing.
Johnie’s visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 12:00 pm. - 2:00 pm. At Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm. Sunday, after which Johnie will be laid to rest at Hart Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
