Johnny Charles Taylor, age 67, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born in Pineville, Kentucky and graduated from Cumberland College with a degree in religion, minoring in psychology. Johnny was retired food pantry manager for Corbin United Effort.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron Taylor (Erin Condon) and Bryan Taylor; sisters, Durenda Taylor and Tamara Niemeier (Cliff); nieces Allison Niemeier, Katherine Niemeier, and Ciara Farmer (Jamie); nephews, Joshua Eaton, Jimmy Carson (Zaria); several great nieces and great nephews; special friend, Betty Shekleton; and numerous fellow wonderers, all involved with Celebrate Recover, the Pantry, and many more who crossed his path as he was "Just Passing Through." A character of the truest hues who valued empathy, thoughtfulness, and a good story, he joins his father and mother, William Edgar Taylor and Cleda Davis Taylor; and nephew, Tyler Warren in the warmth and freedom of Heaven.
You will forever be missed John, J.C., Pops. Visitation for friends and family will be from 2-5pm on Sunday May 16, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin where a celebration of life service will be held at 5pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Johnny's name to Celebrate Recover, c/o Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin, or to the Food Pantry c/o Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church in Corbin. Arrangements by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY.
