Johnny D. Medlin, age 89, of Gray, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Heritage in Corbin, Kentucky.
Born on May 11, 1935, in Gray, Kentucky, Johnny's life was marked by his steadfast resilience, warm humor, and his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and faith. His legacy is a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the tenacity of the human spirit.
He was a member of the Masonic, Cumberland Valley Lodge #751, and he was a Shriner. Johnny was also a devoted and longtime member of Gray Baptist Church.
Johnny was predeceased by his loving wife, Gladys "Betty" Medlin; parents, Wiley and Ada Grant Medlin; daughter, Sue Medlin Greer; and by his siblings, including his sister, Zema Jones.
He is survived by his children, Johnna Bailey (Tim), Jim Medlin (Patty), Tammy Bonza (Jim), and Anita Robinson Pennington (Walt); grandchildren, Greg Wyatt (Jenna), Beth Cline (Mike), Tiffany Cassidy (Roman), Wendy Pietrowski (Tony), David Bailey (Kelley), Angie Rose (Justin), Jamie Cutshell (Allan), Faith Hamilton (Justin), Jonathan Smith (Sharlene), and Emma Robinson; and by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Johnny Medlin will be from 12 pm until 2 pm on Tuesday January 7, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday with Rev. Jake Mahan officiating.
Burial will be private following his service in Cox Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky
