Joseph Henry Bishop

Joseph Henry Bishop, age 81, of Corbin, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Rockcastle Hospital.
He was a retired contractor and a member of Paint Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, John Lewis Bishop Sr., and Sidney Mae Calder Bishop; three Brothers, Ora Dallas Bishop, Paul McClellan Bishop, and Jack Allen Bishop.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Opal Jean Elliott Bishop, whom he married on June 28, 1968; Brother, John Lewis Bishop Jr., Nephew, Michael Lewis Bishop of Corbin; five Nieces, his special niece, Violet Mae Bishop Jones of Corbin, Sally Wright of Walton, KY, Jackie Lynn Hash of Ft. Bragg, NC, Patricia Simpson and Jamie Simpson both of Lexington.
Funeral service will be on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin. Burial will follow in the McFarland Cemetery in West Corbin.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Saturday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
