Josephine L. Hoffman

Josephine L. Hoffman, 84, of Corbin passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at The Heritage.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bernice Weaver Poynter.  Her husband Carl Hoffman and brothers Walter "Buddy" Poynter,  Eddie Poynter, and Roy Poynter also preceded her in death.
Jo was raised and baptized at First Christian Church.  She enjoyed fishing and had coached a girls' softball team years ago.  She was an avid bowler since the 1960's and had operated the A-1 Pet Store in Corbin.
She is survived by her four sons: David Hoffman and wife Glenda, Robert  Hoffman and wife Laura Ruth, Carl Anthony "Tony" Hoffman and wife Genia and Jimmy Joe Hoffman and wife Justeen;  a brother, Dean Poynter of Louisville;  four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Her visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
