Joyce Ann Cox Newsome

Joyce Ann Cox Newsome; age 73, of Corbin passed away on Thursday May 26, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Lily, Kentucky to Preston Oley Cox and Myrtle Jones Cox Whitely who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her Children, Kimberly King, Dean Newsome and wife Sonja; and Jennifer Newsome; Grandchildren, Joshua Newsome and wife Courtney, David King, Spenser King, and Katrina Kyle; Grandchildren in her heart, Luke and Shelby Denning, Great Grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, and Jack Newsome; and by her "sister friend" Judith Foxx Johnson and family; and by a multitude of extended family.
Ms. Newsome is a member of Central Baptist Church in Corbin. She is retired from the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Division of Police. She is a graduate of Henry Clay High School and Fugazzi Business College in Lexington, KY. She was an avid reader, writer, and quilter.
Visitation will be on Sunday May 29, 2016 from 2-4pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY 40701 with her funeral service on Monday May 30th at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy, KY.
