Joyce J. Rains

Joyce J. Lanham Sears Rains, age 82 of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday May 24, 2019.
Born in Corbin, KY on November 28, 1936, she was the youngest of 12 children to Stella and Leonard Lanham, She was a 1955 graduate of Woodbine High School.
She is survived by her husband Clyde Rains of Jeffersonville, IN, son Jeff Sears (Jamie), Chattanooga, TN, son-in-law Jim Gaston (Chun), Fairfield, CA, grandson Andrew Gaston (Laura) Fredrick MD, and granddaughter Rebecca Gaston Higgins, Columbus, GA, great grandson Jack Higgins, great grandson Corbin Gaston, great granddaughters Marisa Lynch and Natalie Lynch, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Stella and Leonard Lanham, daughter Nina Gaston, sisters Margaret LeMasters, Laura Cain, Virgie Perko and brothers, Wilbert, Jennings, Gilbert and Arthur.
Visitation at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY will be Tuesday, May 28 9am-11am with burial to follow at Young Cemetery.
