Juiwana Lee Root

Juiwana Lee Root, 82, of Corbin passed away Friday morning, December 12, 2014 at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born at Alva, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Temus and Florence Goodin Warfield. Her husband Larry H. Root and four siblings Robert, Herbert, Austin and Jewell Warfield also preceded her in death, along with a sister-in-law Lois Warfield and brother-in-law Paul Tipton.
Juiwana had been the office manager for Dr. Harry A. Hamilton for many years and belonged to the AAMA. She was a member of First United Methodist Church/Grace on the Hill where she was active in the Chancel Choir, United Methodist Women and the Joy Circle. She also belonged to Preceptor Alpha Alpha Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Steve and Sharon Root; grandchildren: Jason Steven Root, Keith Scott Lamkin, and Kayla Marie Dixon and husband Cody; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Rae Dixon; a brother, Edward Warfield; sisters Daisy Tipton and Barbara Dorton and husband Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 - 8pm Sunday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 1pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
