June Garland

June Garland, age 72, of Rockholds, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Clay County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Isaac John "I.J." Depew and Dorothy Abrams Depew. June was a homemaker and was of the Holiness and Pentecostal faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilt Garland; son, Lonnie Garland; and siblings: Dora Helton, Bessie Ridener, Ohler Chadwell, and Edward Depew.
She is survived by seven children: Billy Garland and wife Corine of Lima, Ohio; Leroy Garland of Corbin; Joan Ellen Garland Ward of Virginia; Edgar Garland and wife Debbie of Jackson County; Michael Garland and wife Tonya of Corbin; Dorothy Garland Lawson of Corbin; and Lisa Garland Higgins of Corbin; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Jessie Depew of Corbin; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 2pm Friday, Nov. 22, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Lynn Camp Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Thursday, Nov. 21, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
