Kathleen M. Hurd

Kathleen M. Thomas Hurd, 81, of Keavy, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Austin Thomas and Lula Engle Blanton. She was a retired sales associate for K-Mart and was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Hurd; and brothers, Chester, William, David and Joseph Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Brafford and husband Rick of Keavy; grandson, David Hurd and wife Carrie of Keavy; great-grandsons, Zachary Hurd and Ian Hurd, both of Keavy; sister, Betty Kimes of Missouri; two brothers, Don Thomas and wife Carole of Keavy and Tony Thomas and Ann of London.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, April 15, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Medlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday and from 11 am Wednesday until the funeral hour at 1pm.
