Kenneth Ray Satterfield

Kenneth Ray "Ken" Satterfield, age 89, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Laurel Heights in London, Kentucky.

He was born on May 25, 1934, a son to the late Charles and Hazel Dopel Satterfield in Wallins Creek, Kentucky. On February 24, 1959, Ken wed Norma Jean Lambdin, who preceded him in death on December 15, 2013. Ken was a veteran of the US Army, and was a retired field representative from the Kentucky Department of Revenue.

He enjoyed rebuilding cars, fishing, carpentry, reading, and was an avid UK Basketball fan.

Ken is survived by his children, Sandra S. Greear (Aaron) of Corbin, Steven R. Satterfield (Suzann) of Barbourville; four grandchildren, Joshua Greear (Taylor), Rebekah Hackett (Travis), Trevor Satterfield (Afton), and Benjamin Greear; and by nine great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Satterfield and William Satterfield; and by his sister, Betty Taylor.

Kenneth was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Lambdin Satterfield; sisters, Marjorie Worley and Freda Forth; and by his brother, Donald Satterfield.

Visitation for Ken will be from 12-2pm on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday with Aaron Greear officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery - Croley Addition, with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #88.  Pall bearers will be Joshua Greear, Benjamin Greear, and Trevor Satterfield.
