Leah Lovitt Perkins

d. October 9, 2021

Leah Lovitt Perkins, 5/10/1927 to 10/9/2021, passed away peacefully after a long and wonderful life.
Leah was preceded in death by her, husband of 57 years, R.H. (Robert Howard) Perkins II; identical twin sister, Rhea Meadors; parents, James and Effie Lovitt; sister, Norma Hassler; and brother, James Lovitt.
Leah is survived by her three children: Susan Mountjoy, Rhea Wilder both of Louisville, Kentucky, and Robert Perkins III of Beaverton, Oregon; eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Leah was so very kind. She loved spending time with her family, going to the Derby, watching the Reds and her hometown favorite Kentucky Wildcats. She was fan #1 for her children and participated in sports and social activities throughout their lives. Leah and her twin Rhea played piano, sang and entertained publicly as children and she kept that zest of living throughout her life. Leah and RH lived in Lexington for 50 years, and she moved to Louisville to be with her girls for the last decades of her life. We will miss her dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton Officiating.
Remembrance donations in Leah's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
