Ledford Darrell Eaton, age 79, of Corbin, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Born on February 8, 1945, in Corbin, he was the son of the late Robert Eaton and Elsie Rogers Eaton. Darrell's love for life was evident in his diverse hobbies. He found immense joy in farming, a passion that went hand in hand with his profound love for his cows. His adventurous spirit often led him down random roads, just for the thrill of the drive. He relished the simple pleasures of bowling and karaoke. A loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Darrell never missed a game, his enthusiasm as consistent as the team's vibrant colors. His dedication was also reflected in his work as a delivery driver for Butternut, an achievement he took great pride in. He was a man whose life was a true reflection of his loving, funny, and thoughtful nature, making him a beacon of joy in the lives of those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Eaton, and a sister, Cleta Eaton.
Darrell is survived by, his children, Greg Eaton, and Lisa Johnson (Anthony); grandchildren, Isaac Eaton, Makenzie Eaton, and Tristan Philpot (Shawn); great-grandson, Dustin Atlas Philpot; brother, Denver Eaton; sister, Joyce Rogers; special brother-in-law, Cecil Roark; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
His funeral service will begin at 1pm on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Letcher Napier officiating.
Burial will follow at Hart Cemetery in Whitley County, KY.
