Leona Catherine Shaffer

Leona Catherine Shaffer, 80, of High Top Road, Corbin, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 at her residence.
She was Pentecostal by faith and had worked in the kitchen at Dupont Lodge at Cumberland Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oakley and Paulina Trosper Turner; her husband, Steely Bunch; two brothers, Thomas Paul Turner and James Oakley Turner; and by her grandson, James Steely Bunch.
Surviving are four children, Nancy Trett Yates of Tampa, Florida, Virginia Goodson of Ocala, Florida, Jerry Trett and wife Teresa of Williamsburg, and Leroy Bunch of Corbin; grandchildren, Ricky Yates of Tampa, Leslie Phelps of Lake City, Tennessee, Laura Yates of Frankfort, Kentucky, Jacqueline Whitehurst of Ocala, Cathy Kuhl of Ocala, Lisa Bynes of Ocala, Kimberly Anderson of Georgia, Tracy Stanfield of Georgia, Jeffrey Trett of Corbin, Penny Hubbard of London and Nancy Lawson of Corbin; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobbie Turner and wife Naomi Sue and Raymond Turner and wife Ernestine, all of Corbin; sister, Sue Lockaby and husband Arthur of Corbin; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Marion Roaden and Bro. George Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery.
The family of Leona Shaffer will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 25, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
