Lila Jean 'Bug' Baker

Lila Jean Baker (Bug), 87, of Pontiac, Michigan, went to eternal peace on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.
Born in Corbin, Kentucky to the late J.V. Harris and Winnie Mitchell, Lila was a sewing machine operator for General Motors and retired after 28 years of service. She was devoted to attending weekly church services at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Pontiac, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Baker; son, Glen Morris Baker; daughter, Jane Kurelis; sisters: Palma Nelson of Louisville, Kentucky; and Carrie Little of Lewisport, Kentucky; and Brother, James A. Harris of Louisville, Kentucky.
She is survived by three daughters: Joanne (Jymmi) Briggs of Moreno Valley, California; Jackie (Al) Hamilton of Chesterfield, Michigan; and Gladys Turnbull (Rick Hill) of Pontiac, Michigan; Grandchildren: Craig Ryan of Los Angeles, California; Marilyn Kurelis of Cincinnati, Ohio; Jymmi Briggs Jr. of Sydney, Australia; Donna Briggs of Los Angeles, California; and Ashley Turnbull of Pontiac, Michigan.
Funeral service will be at 11am Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home.
