Lula Cox, age 100, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Williamsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Taylor. She was a homemaker and was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Cox; sisters Judy Colby, Imogene Hensley, and Dicey Matlock; brothers Licey Taylor, Roy Taylor, Tommy Taylor, and Blaine Taylor; son willie Cox; and daughters Pauline Cox and Aileen Cox.
She is survived by her brother Herman Taylor of Williamsburg; sons Roy Cox (Arlene) of Keavy, Richard Cox (Louise) of Keavy, and Troy Cox of Williamsburg;
daughters Cloteen Lowe of Corbin, Gerlene Cox of Middlesboro, and Irene Noe of Somerset; a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery.
