Luther "Luke" Willis, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Loyall, Kentucky, he was a member of Hugh Harris Lodge 938 F&AM, and the Scottish Rite. He was a retired truck driver for United Trucking Service.
He was preceded in death by his Son Bobby Ray Willis, Father Chester A. Willis, Mother Lucy Philpot Willis, Brothers Marvin Willis and Jerry Willis, and Sister Juanita Hartford.
He is survived by his Wife, Frances Trosper Willis; Daughter, Janice Heasley; Sons Eugene Willis and Wayne Willis; Brothers, Edgar Willis and wife Thelma and Jack Willis and wife Sandra; special Grandsons, Chris Hammack, Donald Hammack and wife Amy, and Gerry Wayne Willis; and one special Great-Grandson, Austin Dale Hammack; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends all who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 24, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Gaddis and Rev. Mike Seals officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hammack, Donald Hammack, Jack Willis II, Jerry Kenneth Willis, Donnie Hammack, Herman McDaniel, Jimmy McBurney and Kevin Terry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles McBurney, Steve Smith, Ed Smith, C.D. Vermillion, Doug Brown, Arnold Disney, Mike Morton, Bill Woods, David Powers, Marlon Sams, and Bobby Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm Wednesday, May 23, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Masonic services to be conducted at 8:30 pm.
