Malcom Blankenship

Malcom Blankenship, age 76, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at his home in Corbin Kentucky.

He was born March 31, 1947 in Leatherwood Kentucky, to the late Alex and Vina Gabbard Blankenship.

Malcom joined the army straight out of high school and did two combat tours in Vietnam, where he received two bronze stars. After his tour of duty ended, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Michigan.

Malcom was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, Tom and Bud Blankenship, his sisters Louella, Janet, Darlene, and Margaret.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Blankenship, Children Melissa Lynn, Michelle Leigh, Monica Renee, and Michael Kencaid; grandchildren Brandon Avery, Jacob Malcom, and Jonah Max; Brother William (Bill); sisters Helen, and Norma, and many family and friends.

Visitation for Malcom will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Monday, September 4, 2023, from 11-1 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023, at 1 p.m. with William (Bill) Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery in Breathitt County KY, with Michael Blankenship, Jacob Rabinowitz, Jonah Rabinowitz, Brandon Sparks, Nelson Sparks, William (Bill) Blankenship serving as pallbearers.
