Margaret Jean Howard

Margaret Jean Howard, 66, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born February 6, 1940 in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Hensley Helton. She was a homemaker and Protestant by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Lane, Mandy Walters and Lonia Proffitt; and three brothers, Harvey, George and Elmer Helton.
She is survived by three daughters: Irene Butler and husband Ronnie of Trosper, Elizabeth Howard of Trosper, and Joyce Loftin and husband Kim of Elsmere, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jennifer Gray, Little Ron and Kristina Butler, Christina Loftin and Joshua Howard; great-grandchildren, Dakata Gray, MaKayla Gray and Jaden Butler; two brothers, Roy Helton and wife Judy of Stanford and Troy Helton and wife Mildred of Stanford; two sisters, Cora Brewer and husband Jim of Middletown, Ohio and Flo Ely and husband Tony of Stanford; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special thanks to cousin Geraldine Blanton of Corbin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
