Marlene Fay Jewell

Marlene Fay Jewell, 71, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019,  at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born in Corbin, Marlene was the daughter of the late Lester and Cleo Hampton Owens for whom  she was a faithful caregiver. She was Baptist by faith, and had worked as a cook at the Hillcrest Nursing Home.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Owens and Tony Owens; and the father of her children, Ronnie Jewell.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Howard (Wesley); son, Ronnie Lee Jewell, Jr. (Stacy); grandchildren: Travis Howard, Lesley Howard, Naythan Jewell, Payton Jewell, and Preston Jewell; and was expecting her first great-granddaughter, Reyanna Fay Howard.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Old Salem Cemetery in London.
