Obituary of Marsha G. Briscoe:
Marsha G. Briscoe, passed away on Monday morning, October 17, 2022, a beloved wife and mother, she was 81. Born to Marie Daniel Gray and Hagan Gray in July 1941, Marsha grew up in London, Kentucky. Marsha graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters Degree in English. She has been a professional teacher and writer.
Marsha is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles William Briscoe, M.D. and her three sons: Gregory W. Briscoe, M.D.(Susan), S. Trevor Briscoe, M.D.(Cecil) and Brian T. Briscoe, M.D.(Kristi), along with seven grandchildren (Andrew, Christina, Daniel, Nathan, Alex, Ethan, and Hudson) and one great-grandchild (Kopash).
Marsha loved literature and devoted much of her time to raising her three sons, authored several novels and was an Editor for a NY publisher. She participated with the local schools to volunteer her teaching English composition and literature. She also taught at EKU. Marsh even served as a coach for the Corbin High School cross country team many years ago. She also was an accomplished pianist and helped to teach music. She will be missed by all who have known her, especially her family.
A memorial service will be November 5,2022 at 5 P.M. At the Youth Corner,Central Baptist Church. with Rev. Josh Pollitt officiating, the family will receive friends 4-5P.M. November 5, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make donations to The Salvation Army.
