Mary Smith

Mary Smith, 80, was born September 16, 1923 and departed this life on May 4, 2004.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Smith. To this union nine children were born. Those surviving are daughters Esslan Smith and husband Verlin of Flatlick, Nadine Smith and husband Bobby Ray of Gray, and Martha Reeves and husband Bill of Gray; sons Earl Smith and wife Darlene of Gray, Earnest Smith and wife Kathy of Gray, Willie Smith and wife Teresa of Sardinia, Ohio, and Don Smith and wife Pauline of Gray. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Nelis Steward, mother Lucy Steward, two brothers Willie Steward and Shirley Steward, two sisters Annalee Bargo and Hailey Smith, one son Herman Smith and an infant daughter Christine Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Medlin and Rev. Donnie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at the Gray Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home from 6 to 9 pm on both Thursday May 6th and Friday May 7th.
