Mary Thelma Parris, 81, of Corbin, passed away Monday, August 9th at the Christian Health Center.
Born July 19, 1923 in Ages, Kentucky to the late Caleb and Myrtle Wilson Perkins, she was a retired sales clerk for Belk-Simpson. She was a member of the Lynn Camp Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Parris on June 9, 2004; two daughters, Katherine Parris Hughes and Rosa Lee Parris DeLay; one brother, Bud Perkins; and two sisters, Rose Lee Clouse and June Prather.
She is survived by her son Lee Parris & his wife Linda of Knoxville; by six grandchildren, Timothy DeLay, Dawn Johns, Rosemary DeLay Harmeling, Denise Hughes, Shawn Parris and Jennifer Parris; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Perkins of Ohio; and one sister, Georgia Laws.
Funeral services for Mary Parris will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Lynn Camp Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jervis officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Wednesday at Lynn Camp Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
