Maxine Corn Russell, age 81, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late William Leeman Corn and Addie Bishop Corn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Russell, and daughter-in-law, Teri Russell.
Maxine had done clerical work and was a teller for First National Bank, Union Planters and Whitaker Bank; had served over 30 years on the Corbin Library Board; was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women, the church choir, and Sunday school secretary. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Maxine is survived by her sons: Phillip Ray Russell and wife Tammy of Corbin, and Mark Anthony Russell and wife Amy of Albertville, Alabama; five grandchildren: Phillip Anthony Russell of Corbin, Kendra Arthur and husband Matthew of Charlestown, Indiana, Jacob Russell and wife Anna of Huntsville, Alabama, Ashley Eads and husband Dacota of Albertville, Alabama, and Haley Elkins of Huntsville, Alabama; seven great-grandchildren: Matthew Russell Arthur, Mason Williams Arthur, Mia Rose Arthur, Eli Ray Russell, Ellea Kaye Russell, Corbyn Jayne Eads, and Emily Tyler Eads; and brother, Walter Corn and wife Mary of Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2013, until the time of the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Combs officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Anthony Russell, Terry Smith, Matthew Arthur, Jacob Russell, Dacota Eads, Les Williamson, Stuart Hamlin, and Michael Goforth.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.
