Megan Renee Smith, age 15, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2004, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born on November 12, 1988 in Corbin, Kentucky to Sam Smith and Lisa Daniels.
She was a student at Whitley County High School and attended the Young's Creek Pentecostal Church on Bee Creek Road in Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her Grandmother, Brenda Sue Scalf Williams and her Aunt Arlita "Dee" Williams.
She is survived by her Mother, Lisa Daniels of Williamsburg, her Father and Step-Mother, Sam and Kelly Smith of Corbin; Her Grandparents, David and Jean Hardesty of Corbin and Clarence Williams of Michigan;  Her Brothers and Sister, Ricky, Shane, Joshua, Sam, and Sarah Smith; Her Great Grandmother, Arizona Leisure of Corbin; Aunts, Beth Durham and husband Brian of Richmond, Jeana Myers of Corbin; Uncles Chris Hardesty and Butch Wood of Corbin; and a Host of Friends, Cousins, and Family members to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Pastor James Nichols and Pastor William Boyd officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 26, 2004 from 5-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin.
