Melvin Jay Kerr

Melvin Jay Kerr, age 63, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Herman Kerr; Brother, James Ray Kerr; and daughter, Wendy Marie Kerr. Melvin worked as a custodian at the EKU Corbin Campus and loved getting to spend time with his grandchildren.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kerr; Mother, Bernice Mayfield Kerr; Children, Melvin Kerr Jr. (Diane), Brandy Nicole Kerr (Jamie Gambill), Andrew James Kerr, and Samantha Joe Kerr (Brandon); Grandchildren, Morgan Nicole Gambill, Megan Jean Gambill, Mikayla Beth Gambill, Joseph Jay Kerr, and Elizabeth Kerr; and by the mother of his children, Mary Kerr.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
