Merle Elizabeth Ridener

Merle Ridener, 83, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Corbin Nursing Home.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Nancy Brewer Ellison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandstone Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cleo Ridener; three daughters, Phyllis, Karen and Linda Ridener; and son, Barry Ridener.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Ridener and wife Sharon, and Keith and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Mark and wife Monica, Susan Jordon and husband Whitley, James and wife Barbara, Matthew and wife Valerie, and Tonya Ridener; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Julie, Luke, Katie and Jacob Ridener; three sisters; and numerous other family members who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, October 14, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Herschel Walker and Rev. Randy Steely officiating. Burial will follow in the Monhollen Cemetery on Fifth Street Road.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Monday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
