Murrel Edward Proffitt

Murrel Edward Proffitt, age 75, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at his home.

Born in Corbin, he was a son of the late Lester Proffitt and Nancy Smith Parsons. Murrel worked as a truck driver. He was a loving daddy and grandpa, who enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda K. Proffitt, three brothers, Lowell Vandiniver, Lloyd Proffitt, and Melvin Proffitt, a sister, Leonna Shirkey, and four great-grandchildren.

Murrel is survived by five children, Amy Blackwell, Judi Proffitt, Sherry Crockett, Monika Fletcher, and Robert Mahoy, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a brother, Jimmy Proffitt, and four sisters, Charlene Wyrick, Darlene Johnson, Ann Burkhart, and Pearl Hubbard

The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
