Myrtle E. Collins

Myrtle E. Collins, age 71, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Oak Tree Hospital.
Born in Rockholds, she was the daughter of the late James McKinley Mullis and Gladys Smith. She was a retired office worker with American Greeting Corp. Myrtle was also a member of Central Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Lemmons and sister, Winnifred Kirby.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Paul Collins; daughter, Teresa Lovitt of Corbin; son, Wendell George, of Corbin; two grandchildren, Stacey Bigger of Owensboro and Craig George of Corbin; sister, Marie Lipsom of Corbin; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wed. March 16, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Green officiating. Burial will be in the George Family Cemetery in Laurel County.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday, March 15, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
