Nadine Pennington Carr, 87, of Corbin passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was a daughter of the late Link and Lettie Trammell Pennington and the widow of James Floyd Carr. She was preceded in death by her son Jimmy Carr and an infant son, as well as six siblings and some of their spouses: Ethel Parks and Roy, Amy Combs and Paul, Link Pennington, Jr. and Neva, Evan Pennington, Gearl Pennington, and Harold Pennington and Janrose; and sister-in-law Norma Pennington.
Nadine is survived by four brothers: Charles Pennington and Beulah, Earl Pennington and Mary, Walter Pennington and Hettie, and Kenneth Pennington and Shelby; a sister-in-law Dorothy Pennington; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Nadine worked many years as a hairdresser. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and had been in the Red Hat Society.
Her visitation will begin at 10am Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. A service honoring her life will follow at noon that day with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. James Vandy officiating.
Burial will be at the Ryan Cemetery with nephews and great nephews as pallbearers.
