Nancy Bird Carroll

Nancy Bird Carroll, age 87, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Nancy was born on March 19, 1936, in Woodbine, KY, to Ruben and Bonnie Bird. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Jenkins Hall, and brothers, Jerry Bird, Calvin Bird, Billy Bird, and Rodger Bird.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rudy Carroll; children, Lonnie R. Carroll, Jr. (Marsha), and Belinda C. Hamilton (Derek); 8 grandchildren, Tiesa, Tasha, Danielle, Alexis, Gabrielle, Rudy, Daniel, and Bonnie; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Okeh Bird and Sally Bird; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and lead the "Golden Girls" arts and crafts group. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord and being active in the church.

Nancy loved the Corbin Redhounds and attended every ballgame, practice, and sporting events the school was involved in. She also loved the Kentucky Wildcats and enjoyed going to games in Lexington and especially going to the SEC Tournament with her husband to cheer on the "Big Blue"!

Visitation for Nancy Bird Carroll will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Central Baptist Church, where her funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Josh Pollitt and Rev. Johnny Jervis officiating.

Burial will follow at McFarland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to thank Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and kindness they have shown the family through the years.
