Neal 'Wayne' Phipps

Neal "Wayne" Phipps, 68, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gray, he was the son of the late Fred Phipps and Lissie Perry Phipps. Wayne had been a truck driver for Greer Brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Junior Phipps; and two sisters, Cassie Wyatt and Eulean Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Saylor Phipps; daughter, Deborah Anita Lawson of Gray; two brothers, Will Phipps and Benny Phipps, both of Gray; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm Saturday, August 30, at the Rossland Holiness Church with Rev. Claude Medlin and Rev. R.P. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home and from 1-2pm Saturday at the church.
