Nellie Parker Giles

Nellie C. Parker Giles; age 74, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Corbin, passed away on Thursday January 8, 2015 in Bowling Green.
She was born in Corbin and attended Whitley County High School. Nellie was the first female firefighter for the City of Corbin, was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary in Corbin; volunteered at the VFW, and was a member of West Corbin Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Kathy Morris; Parents, Virgil Parker and Cecil Johnson Parker; Brothers, Damon, Duane, and Roland Parker; Sisters, Vernie Parker, Dexter Perry, and Jeanette Taylor.
Nellie was devoted to her family and loved ones and is survived by her Brother, Claude Parker of Middlesboro; Daughter, Terrie Martin and husband Bobby of Bowling Green, Son, Don Giles and wife Connie of Corbin; Grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremey and Misti Morris of Nashville, Dustin and Chris Denham, Dana and Gracie Giles all of Corbin; Christie and Ryan Montgomery, Shawna Miller, Charlie and Vanna Martin all of Bowling Green, KY. Great Grandchildren, Megan and Hailey Morris of Nashville, Kelsey, Tyler, and Kaleb Martin, Karston and Colton Miller all of Bowling Green; and by many loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Sunday January 11, 2015 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Farris Cemetery in Gray.
