Nona Marie Leevey

Nona Marie Leevey, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at her home in Corbin.
Born in Bloomington, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma F.W. Dufelmeier Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis G. Leevey; step-brother, Claude J. Mayberry; step-sisters, Clara Marie Lander and Daisy Elizabeth Gibson; daughter, Brenda Sue Leevey; and grandson, John Tyler Overpeck.
Nona had worked as a caregiver. She was a member and attended Bethel Apostolic Church and the Greater Life Fellowship.
She is survived by two daughters: Emma Louise Lawrence of Morningview, Kentucky, and Ida Marie Melton of London; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Thelma Ilene Jones of Greer, South Carolina, and Carolyn Jean Etherton of Benton, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, Jan. 24th, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Darryl Bryant and Rev. Kenneth Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Stansbury Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11-1 Friday, Jan. 24th, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
