Norma Jean Collins

Norma Hall Collins, 65, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Norma was born in Harlan, Kentucky. She attended Corbin Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed researching and writing about genealogy.
Norma worked her entire life to provide for her sons. She never cared about material things for herself, only what she could do to make life better for her kids and grandkids. She raised her family in church and prayed every day right up until the day the Lord called her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Collins, father Hubert Hall, mother Sylvia Larkey Hall, step-father Roy Hall, brothers Jimmy and Michael Hall, sister Benita Decker, and granddaughter Ashley Collins.
Norma is survived by her sons Jimbo Collins and wife Thelma of Corbin and Wade Collins and wife Chrystal of Corbin; grandchildren McKenzie Collins, Kevin Collins, Lori Collins, James Collins, Sara Collins, Hunter Collins, Molly Collins, and Kiairra Rife; brother Roger Hall and wife Lisa of Corbin; sisters Joanna Shepherd and husband Harry of Corbin, Vicki Roland and husband Danny of Owenton, KY, Helen King and husband Bob of Nashville, TN, Jane Seal and husband Fred of Corbin, Pam Babb and husband Roger of Charlotte, NC, Melanie Burkhart of Corbin, and Paula Webb and husband Greg of Corbin; and also by many in-laws she loved just as much as blood relatives; and many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Don Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Larkey Cemetery in London, KY.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be John Logan, Scott Tiny Jones, Dan Russell, Bobby Burkhart, Wade Collins, Carlos Babb, Byron Green, Harold Collins, David Collins, and John Mink.
