Oleita Joy Sweet, 64, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at her home.
Born in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lorella Wingfield Sweet. She was the owner of the former Joy's Kountry Kookin' Restaurant in Corbin. She also devoted over 18 years of service to the Whitley County Library with the Bookmobile.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Kevin Russell Brown; her brother, Roy Sweet; and grandmother, Myrtle "Mammie" Richmond.
She is survived by two sons: Buck Hinkle and Nancy Wagner of Corbin, and Brian Hinkle and wife Rebecca of Newcomb, TN.; three grandchildren: Justin Hinkle of Newcomb, TN, and Audrey and Austin Brown of Rockholds; sister, Jean Foster of Indiana; brothers, Bob Sweet and Mickey Sweet of Williamsburg; and special friend, Martha Hinkle of Corbin.
Funeral service will be at 2pm on Sunday, Sept. 22nd, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Lester and Rev. Randy Bargo officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Williamsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Saturday, Sept. 21st, at the funeral home.
