Olive B. Scott

Olive B. Scott, age 84, of Gray, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, August 17, 2024.


She was born in Knott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Coy Banks and Mattie Combs Banks. Olive was a homemaker and attended Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Corbin.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carley Banks.


She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Paul B. Scott; daughters, Debra Scott and Donna Sue Johnson (Kendall); grandchildren, Greg Pruisman (Jessica), Ryan Pruisman, Matthew Johnson (Conner), Brianna Sims (Blake), Brooklyn Johnson (Haiden), and Anna B. Johnson; great-grandchildren, Trey, Kody, Bennett, Owen, Lainey, and Piper;  sister, Gwen Phillips; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herman and Marjorie Scott; sister-in-law, Easter Banks, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.


Visitation will be from 12noon until 2 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday the 22nd.


Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. Serving as her pallbearers will be Greg Pruisman, Ryan Pruisman, Matthew Johnson, Blake Sims, Haiden Padgett, and Chris Phillips.
