Orville Ray 'Tubby' Phipps

Orville Ray "Tubby" Phipps, age 60, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Will Phipps Jr. and Nora Hibbard Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Baby Collins. He had worked in the coal mines.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Doolin Phipps; daughter, Hope Collins Elderidge and husband Jamie; son, Steven Phipps; grandson, Adam Lee Collins; brothers, Dallas Phipps, Dennis Phipps and wife Judy, and Daniel "Boone" Phipps; sister, Kathy Brown and husband Preston; and numerous nieces and nephews, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 5, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, April 4, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
