Otis Henson

Otis Henson, age 76, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Friday June 9, 2023, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

He was born in Knox County, Kentucky, a son of the late Hargis Henson and Lucy Edwards Henson.  Otis was a member of Old Ark House of Prayer and Shady Grove Church in Corbin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Otis "Denny" Henson, siblings, McKinley Henson, T.J. Henson, Robert Henson, Edna Taylor, and Evaline, and by his grandchildren, Ileigh Henson and Kinsley Henson.

Otis is survived by his wife, Cheryl Henson, children, Hargis Henson, Robby Henson, Gary Wayne Henson, and Teresa Marcum; siblings, Roy Henson (Lucy), and Dessil Mason (Nathan), grandchildren, Connor, Tyler, Hunter, Raelynn, Tatum, Sylvia, Bradley, Braxton, Ben, Kayla, and Jerry, one great granddaughter, and by many special nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Monday June 12, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  His funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 13th at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Robinson, Rev. Roy Eversole, and Rev. Ted Eversole officiating.  Burial will follow in the Stansbury Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
