ParaLee "Pat" Hayes McCreary, 83, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
She was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina to the late William Oliver and Sarah M. Hayes.
She a retired Beautician and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hickory, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Dannah, Robert, James, Carl, William, and Woodrow Hayes; four sisters, Mabel Sutters, Marie Mahasfey, Verdie Hayes and Mary Hayes; one stepson, Thomas Michael McCreary; and one step-granddaughter, Shawna Michelle McCreary.
Pat is survived by her husband, Thomas McCreary Jr. of Corbin; three sisters-in-law, Annabel Hayes of Statesville, NC, Beulah Payne and Ruby Henson of Barbourville, KY; five step-daughters, Bonnie Doolin and husband Robert of Lily, KY, Gwen Smith and husband Keith of Bryants Store, KY, Mary Hubbs, Judy Loudermilk and husband Al, and Pam Sowders, all of Corbin; 11 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews are left to mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 11, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday, Sept. 10, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
