Paul Madison Norvell, age 61, was born on May 10, 1963, in Corbin, Kentucky, and departed from this life on December 13, 2024.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, William Kenneth Norvell. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, with a heart that embraced everyone he met. His life was filled with joy, kindness, and the kind of humor that lightens the heart. Paul found his calling in life as a mechanic, and he devoted himself to this profession with a passion that was truly inspiring. Paul was a man of many talents and interests. He worked tirelessly at Whayne Supply - Boyd Cat, where he was not just an employee but a part of a family. Retirement from his beloved profession did not slow him down, however. His love for life was evident in his hobbies, which included singing and fishing, and his unwavering support for the University of Kentucky. His greatest joy, however, was his family. He was an incredible husband and father, but his eyes truly shone when he became a grandfather, creating memories with his grandchildren that will be cherished forever.
Paul's faith was an integral part of his life. As a Deacon and active member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church, he embodied the verse, Matthew 5:16: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." He lived this verse, letting his love for God shine through his actions, his words, and his life.
Paul leaves behind his loving mother, Audrey Norvell, and his cherished wife, E. Kim Norvell; his children, Audra Swearingen (Michael), and Matthew Norvell (Ellen); grandchildren, Maria, Elizabeth, Cecilia Swearingen, and Maverick Norvell; siblings, Alice Tooley (Rev. Jerry), Gary Norvell (Shelia), Joan Norvell, and Mark Norvell (Brenda); and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation for Paul Norvell will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Poplar Grove Baptist Church, 2322 KY 830, Corbin, Kentucky. His funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 17th with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. Victor Bramlett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lynn Camp Cemetery in Corbin.
