Pauline Rose Martin

Pauline Rose Martin, age 90, a Corbin native and longtime resident of Taylor Mill, KY and The Heritage in Corbin, passed away Thursday evening, March 13, 2014 at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Edward Martin, her parents, Tom and Daisy Hood Rose, brothers James Jefferson Rose and Thomas Rose, and sisters Cleo Treadway, Lucille Mayne, Janette Sears, and Louise Baird.
Born January 15, 1924 in Corbin, KY, Pauline was a graduate of Lynn Camp High School and continued her education at Sue Bennett College in London. She later attended beauty school in northern Kentucky.
Pauline served as a Police Judge during the 1960s and early 70s helping the City of Taylor Mill to maintain order, and later as a cosmetologist where she had the opportunity to be together with her friends. She was a member of the Covington Daylight Chapter of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, First Baptist Church in Corbin, Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the ladies Auxiliary in Winston Park.
Pauline loved her family and friends, and enjoyed being with her many pets. We will miss her personality, laugh, and generous spirit.
She is survived by her children: Judith Martin Goins of Lexington, and Vickie Martin Myers and husband David of Corbin; sisters-in-law Mary Frances Pennington and husband Earl, and Sylvia Jones Rose, all of Corbin.
She leaves grandchildren Jack Martin Goins and wife Pam of Lexington, John David Myers of Corbin, Michelle Goins-Henry of Paris, KY and Julie Myers Ottney and husband Andrew of Dublin, OH; great grandchildren Addison Clay Henry and Peyton Jackson Henry of Paris and Zachary Taylor Myers and Anthony Thomas Myers of Corbin.
Other family members are nieces Patricia Calico and husband Forrest of Stanford, KY, Della Elliott of Lawrenceburg, KY, Penny Hammons and husband Johnny, and Jenny Shelton and husband Tom, both of Corbin; nephews Jerry Edward Treadway of Taylor Mill, Martin Earl Pennington and Jimmy Goodin of Corbin. Special friends include Danny Barnett and Saundra McFarland, both of Corbin.
The family of Pauline Martin wishes to thank The Heritage as well as Baptist Health Corbin for the care shown to her.
Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Sunday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin. Her funeral will follow at 2:30pm with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
Private interment will occur Monday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Taylor Mill.
