Pearl Brock

Mr. Pearl Brock, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Chester and Susie Helton Brock and had worked as a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Davidson Brock; son, Lonnie Brock; sisters, Hazel Karr, Evelyn Taylor, and Ellen Brock; and brother, Virgil Brock.
He is survived by nine children: sons, Edward Brock of London, Lee Roy Brock of Richmond, Jerry Brock of London, and James Brock of Keavy; daughters, Deborah Houston of Keavy, Carolyn Jean Taylor of Keavy, Janice Sue Monhollen of Corbin, Hazel Brock of London, and Lisa Brock of London; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Brock of Lebanon, Indiana and Edward Brock; and two sisters, Francis Eaton of Keavy and Geraldine Blanton of Corbin; and numerous other family and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 17, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. David Scott officiating. Graveside service will be at 3:30 pm Saturday in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Richmond. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday, July 16, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
