Pearlie Walters, 90, of Nicholasville and formerly of Pineville, passed away Thursday, August 19, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born August 24, 1913 in Bell County to the late Fred and Rachel Miracle, she was a retired school teacher for Laurel Hill and also a storekeeper at the Walters Family Market of Pineville. She was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Milford Walters, her son Charles Walters, and her siblings Otis Miracle, Gracie Reams and Roscoe Miracle.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Sommerhalter of LaJolla, California, Janice (Norman) Preston of Nicholasville, Susan (Richard) Robertson of Lexington, and Donald (Suzie)Walters of Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers, Dewey Miracle of Hazard, Floyd Miracle of Keavy, and Raymond Miracle of Corbin; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchcildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Walters will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Pineville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Friday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
